California – a step in the right direction

This article on the BBC News website makes for very interesting reading.

My personal opinion of the USA was then, protecting the environment and saving the planet were not really much of a priority. Why else did they not ratify the Kyoto Protocol?

I’ve always suspected that there may be a portion of the population that does not agree with the current administration’s position, and now I have the proof – and it even comes from the Republican side of politics.

The state of California, led by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, is suing the US federal government for failing to support tougher emissions laws.

It’s good to see that someone is taking a tougher stance and finally doing something to help the environment on such a high level.

Let’s wish him luck!
