Truly German is a new podcast that talks about the news in Germany. Sometimes this will by national news, maybe political, but we will also be covering some local topics.
We want to have some fun at the same time, so part of the podcast is our Länderquiz – in which my contestant has to guess in which Bundesland three different news stories took place in.
This week the topics are:
- New and discontinued traffic signs
- Twitter and election results
- Oberursel barrel organ festival
The quiz covers the following stories:
- Sehler-Quetschefest (plum festival)
- Störtebecker-Festspielen
- Bahnhof des Jahres (Station of the year)
Listen to the episode and tell us what you think about the stories covered:

Enjoy your podcast. I think there are a few too many signs in Germany, however, my wife thinks we’re at the opposite end of the spectrum here in Canada..and now that she brought it to my attention..looking around, she’s right, nowhere near enough signs in this country, it’s a big country and I never noticed until she pointed it out that you could drive 50km on a wrong road in the wrong direction before you ever ever even knew which road you were on. I confess we really suck for signage in this country…if I had to decide…I’d go for the German more is best method.
