Monopoly – the new Oberursel edition

Monopoly OberurselOne of my favourite pieces of merchandising for the Hessentag was released last week: Oberursel Monopoly*.

As a fan of Monopoly, this was going to be a special edition that I had to have, so I was one of the first to buy it at the local retailer.

The Oberursel edition of Monopoly is played the same way as the standard version, except that the streets have been replaced with familiar names from Oberursel and its suburbs. [Read more…]

How white is “Just White”?

“Just White” is a concert at the Hessentag where entry is free, but you must come in white – or so the posters say.

Sometimes they just say simply “Dresscode: white”.

So does that mean going all in white, or just something you are wearing has to be white? [Read more…]

Where not to park at the Hessentag

Unberechtigt parkende Fahrzeuge werden kostenpflichtig abgeschlepptThis is sort of a personal plea on my part, but I think I can speak for a lot of the residents in Oberursel who do not live in the closed-off part of the town by asking all visitors who come by car not to park:

  • on private property
  • on a private car park, eg. where you see the sign “Privatparkplatz”
  • across the entrance to a garage, a drive, or a private car park
