A 19-year-old driver had a lucky escape on the Kanonenstraße (L3004) on Monday morning, 19th August, 2013.
The man from Schmitten lost control of his Opel Corsa in one of the curves and slid 15m through the roadside ditch before the car flipped over.
The damage is estimated at €1,500 but the driver remained unhurt.
Police in Oberursel are asking witnesses to come forward after an attack in the Adenauerpark about a month ago at 4am on Friday, 26th July, 2013.
An argument in the park led to one person being so badly injured, that they were taken to Bad Homburg hospital where they underwent an emergency operation.
Since then police questioning has revealed that those responsible can be described as follows:
1. male, around 20 years old, approximately 1.85m tall, of athletic appearance (approx. 90kg), with short black hair and unshaven. He was wearing a black t-shirt with a white pattern on it and said he was from Pakistan.
2. male, around 20 years old, approximately 2m tall, well-built, clean-shaven, with a mole on one cheek. He had short, dark blond or brown hair and wore a white or light blue t-shirt and blue trousers.
Witnesses so far have said the men were accompanied by two women who were not involved in the argument.

Last Thursday (15th August, 2013) a driver was seen living the scene of an accident in the Aumühlenstraße.
The 18-year-old had reversed out of a parking space in a VW Golf and damaged a grey Smart in the process. They then left the scene the accident but were seen by a witness who called the police.
The damage is estimated at €1,300.
A collision at the crossing Feldbergstraße / Liebfrauenstraße caused €9,000 of damage late last Thursday (15th August, 2013).
A 19-year-old from Oberursel was driving a grey Skoda Fabia along the Liebfrauenstraße towards the Feldbergstraße. At the crossing of the two roads the traffic lights were running in “nighttime” mode, ie. they were flashing amber.
The driver entered the crossing without making sure that the Feldbergstraße , where traffic has priority, was clear to enter.
In doing so she hit a grey Toyota Corolla being driven by a 47-year-old from Wehrheim.
Police suspected that the 19-year-old had been drinking alcohol and took a blood sample.
There will be a large book flea market in Oberursel’s library on between Wednesday, 28th and Saturday, 31st August 2013 with proceeds going to the library’s supporters’ association.
This market takes place on the 1st floor and has a larger selection of books than the monthly one, so there are usually foreign-language books there as well.

The library is located at one end of the market square in Oberursel, in the Eppsteinerstraße.
The nearest car parks are “Bleiche” and in the Holzweg. The nearest train station is Altstadt (U3).
Last Thursday night (15th August, 2013) yet more rubbish bins containing waste paper were set alight throughout Oberursel, some of which caused damage to neighbouring buildings which is estimated to worth around €30,000 in total.
Police are treating the fires are arson and are asking for witnesses to call them in Bad Homburg on 06172 1200.
The rubbish bins were in the Berliner Straße, Erich-Ollenhauer-Straße, Lahnstraße, Vorstadt, and Eschbachweg, the latter of which caused damage to the entrance to a Kindergarten.

Local political group the OBG have released a statement criticising the creation of the creation of the “Förderverein Taunabad” – the charity set up by supporters of the new swimming pool.
Part of their criticism is that the main players in the charity are also key figures in the town’s administration. They argue that by transferring power from the town hall to the charity those at the top are no longer directly accountable to voters but to the charity’s board instead.
But they also criticise the fact that lower down the chain there are town hall employees who they claim then carry out work for this and other organisations in the town whilst being paid for by the towns budget but without the internal accountability. [Read more…]
