A 3,000 step walk for senior citizens is taking place in Stierstadt on Tuesday, 22nd October, 2013.
To take part, be at the bus stop “Altes Rathaus” in Stierstadt at 3pm.
The Seniorentreff in Oberursel will be offering an afternoon of Bingo on Thursday, 24th October, 2013 between 2.30pm and 4.30pm in the “Altes Hospital” (Hospitalstraße 9).
Anyone who is interested is invited to come along and try their luck!
Friday night is music night at Musikhalle Portstraße, located near the U-Bahn stop “Altstadt”.
On Friday, 25th October, 2013 a “drum festival” with “Impuls & Friends” is taking place at 8pm.
Entry costs €10.
Once a month the Bluebox Portstraße holds a Sunday morning breakfast buffet in their cinema.
As the organisation is not a commercial cinema, they are not allowed to advertise which film will be shown in advance. For Sunday, 27th October, 2013, we are told that it will be a “French comedy”. If you do want to know which film will be shown or to reserve tickets call 06171 636930.
The showing starts at 11.30am and they are located opposite the U-Bahn stop “Altstadt”.

When local comedian “Schüssel” held the premiere of his now show “Aach des noch!”, which roughly translates as “Not that as well!”, it was his second attempt.
“Aach des noch” was probably what he was thinking when he fell ill on the day he had intended on holding it, but he apparently reckoned without his dog “Flocki” passing on a bout of bronchitis causing him to lose his voice.
By the second attempt on Friday, 11th October, 2013 at the Brauhaus, he was rid of it and had passed it on instead to his long-suffering wife “Frieda”, commenting that he was now enjoying some peace and quiet at home. [Read more…]
Frankfurt International School will be holding their “Applefest” on Sunday, 20th October, 2013 between 12 noon and 4pm.
The Applefest is being organised by the Parent-Teacher-Group and is open to the public. Pupils will be selling apple juice, cider, apple cake and international specialities for good causes that the school supports, amongst others in Kalahari and Poland.
There is no parking available at the school, so a shuttle bus will operate between the school and the Rolls Royce field, the Edeka car park in Camp King, the primary school in the Alfred-Lechler-Straße and the Hohe Mark clinic.
Visitors coming by train should take the U3 to “Waldlust”.
A 12-year-old boy was attacked in the U-Bahn (U3) on Tuesday, 24th September, 2013. The attack took place between the stops “Waldlust” and “Lahnstraße” just before 6pm.
The attacker is described as a man, around 1.80m or 1.85m tall, well built, with a black beard. He was wearing black trousers, a black jumper with a hood, and coloured Adidas trainers.
According to police, he hit the boy in the stomach and then took his keys before leaving the train at the “Lahnstraße” station. Luckily the boy was not hurt.
Detectives in Bad Homburg would like to hear from anyone who can identify the man on 06172 1200.
Once again the police in Oberursel (Ordnungspolizei) carried out speed checks on the Kanonenstraße towards the Feldberg on Tuesday, 24th September, 2013, this time using two cameras to catch motorcycles travelling too fest.
Between 5pm and 7pm they measured the speed of 217 vehicles on a stretch of the road where a speed limit of 60km/h is in place.
58 of those measured were travelling too fast, with one motorcycle travelling at 124km/h. The driver faces a €240 fine, 4 points on their license, and a one month driving ban.
