Kamishibai Theatre performance at the library

A Kabishibai Theatre performance for children aged 3 and over will take place in Oberursel’s library on Saturday, 27th February, 2016 at 11am.

“Kabishibai” is Japanese and means “paper drama”.  A story is told using a small stage and pictures on cards inserted into it.

The story on Saturday is “Was macht das Schwein auf dem Ei”.

The performance will last about 45 minutes and tickets costing €2 each are available at the library or by calling 06171 62870.

Klara Schratz – 90th Birthday

Breakfast Buffet at the Seniorentreff

The Seniorentreff in the “Altes Hospital” (Hospitalstraße 9) will be holding a breakfast buffet on Friday, 26th February, 2016 between 9am and 11am.

To take part, register in advance by calling 06171 585333 and leave a message on the answerphone if necessary by Tuesday the week before.

On Friday, 26th February, 2016, another “Newcomer TV Night” is being held.

Doors open at 8pm for a 8.30pm start and entry costs €2.

Changes to the U-Bahn route (U3) at the weekend

Due to tree-felling work next to the line the U3 will be running along a different route this coming weekend.

On Saturday, 20th February, 2016, between 8am and 12 noon the line will start as usual at Oberursel-Hohemark and continue towards Frankfurt.  After the “Wiesenau” stop, however, it will divert onto the U1 line and terminate at Ginnheim.

A bus shuttle service will be in operation between Heddernheimer Landstraße and Heddernheim.

To get to Frankfurt city centre, either use the bus connection and continue on the U-Bahn from Heddernheim, or continue in the U3/U1 to Ginnheim and change there to tram line 16.  Alternatively, use the S-Bahn S5 from Oberursel to Frankfurt.

 

Tuesday night cinema at Bluebox Portstraße

As the organisation is not a commercial cinema, they are not allowed to advertise which film will be shown in advance. For Tuesday, 23rd February, 2016, we are told that it will be a portrait of youth. If you do want to know which film will be shown then call 06171 636930 and they will tell you.

The showing starts at 9pm.

3,000 step walk for senior citizens in Stierstadt

To take part, be at the bus stop “Altes Rathaus” in Stierstadt at 3pm.

Road surfacing at “An den Drei Hasen”

The roads affected are:

  • Obere Zeil
  • Bertha-von-Suttner-Straße
  • Langwiesenweg
  • Willy-Brandt-Straße
  • Karl-Hermann-Flach-Straße

To take part, be at the “Altes Rathaus” (Urselbachstraße 59) at 9.30am.

Flea Market in the Adenauerallee

The flea market starts at the end of the pedestrian zone and continues the length of the Adenauerallee and over the railway lines towards Bommersheim. One part also takes place in the Nassauer Straße next to the U-Bahn tracks.

To get there by train take either the line U3 or S5 to Oberursel’s main station.
