3,000 step walk for senior citizens

To take part, be at the Christuskirche in the Oberhöchstädter Straße at 3pm.

To take part, be at the bus stop “Altes Rathaus” in Stierstadt at 3pm.

Tuesday night cinema at Bluebox Portstraße

As the organisation is not a commercial cinema, they are not allowed to advertise which film will be shown in advance. For Tuesday, 14th June, 2016, we are told that it will be a romantic drama. If you do want to know which film will be shown then call 06171 636930 and they will tell you.

The showing starts at 9pm.

A celtic funeral pileA tour entitled “Das keltische Leben am Fuße des Feldbergs” (celtic life at the foot of the Feldberg) is being held on Saturday, 11th June, 2016 at 2pm.

The tour starts at the Taunus Information Centre and costs €5 per person, those taking part should have sturdy footwear.

 

Donate Blood

Blood - ©Can Stock Photo Inc. / iqonceptBlood can be donated at the Red Cross in Oberursel on Friday, 10th June, 2016 between 3.30pm and 8pm. The Red Cross is located at Marxstraße 28, opposite the U-Bahn station “Lahnstraße”.

To donate you must be healthy and between 18 and 68 years of age. If you have not donated before, then you must not be over 60. You must take some form of identification with you, such as a passport, that contains a photo.

Take a look inside the tower of St.Ursula’s Church

St.Ursula's Church Tower in OberurselThe tower of St.Ursula’s Church in Oberursel will be open to the public on Saturday, 11th June 2016 between 3pm and 5pm.

The tower contains a museum, the belfry and there is also access to the roof where you can get a breathtaking view across the town and its neighbours.

Entry costs €1.50 for adults and €1.00 for children.

Anyone who is interested is invited to come along and try their luck!

Changes to U3 trains from Saturday

U-Bahn (U3) single unit train in Oberursel station on 12th August 2012Due to works on the track at Niederursel the U3 trains from Oberursel will terminate at Weißkirchen-Ost from Friday, 4th June until Tuesday, 14th June, 2016.

A replacement bus service will take rail passengers to Niederursel and Nordweststadt, from where the U1 will continue into Frankfurt.  The U1 will be running more frequently than usual.

The U8 route will not be serviced by trains and the U9 will only run between Riedberg and Nieder-Eschbach.

To get to Frankfurt without using the bus service it is advisable to change to the S5 line in Oberursel.

On Sunday, 12th June, works on a bridge in Bommersheim mean that the U3 will not be running at all and will be replaced by buses between Weißkirchen-Ost and Hohemark.
