A tour entitled “War and Peace in Oberursel” is being held on Sunday, 17th July, 2016.
A host of guides – Sylvia Struck, Hermann Schmidt, Angelika Rieber, Maren Horn und Dietrich Andernacht – will lead tour through the centre of the town to visit places where the town was once defended as well as places that played a roll in the wars of the 20th Century.
The tour is set to last around 2 hours and costs 3 Euro per person to take part. The starting point is at the St.Ursula church at 2.30pm.
A 3,000 step walk for senior citizens is taking place in Weißkirchen on Wednesday, 13th July, 2016.
To take part, be at the “Altes Rathaus” (Urselbachstraße 59) at 9.30am.
The monthly flea market in the Adenauerallee in Oberursel will take place on Saturday, 16th July 2016 between 7am and 1pm.
The flea market starts at the end of the pedestrian zone and continues the length of the Adenauerallee and over the railway lines towards Bommersheim. One part also takes place in the Nassauer Straße next to the U-Bahn tracks.
To get there by train take either the line U3 or S5 to Oberursel’s main station.
The Seniorentreff in Oberursel will be offering a 3,000 step walk on Wednesday, 13th July 2016.
To take part, be at the Christuskirche in the Oberhöchstädter Straße at 3pm.
A 3,000 step walk for senior citizens is taking place in Stierstadt on Tuesday, 12th July, 2016.
To take part, be at the bus stop “Altes Rathaus” in Stierstadt at 3pm.
A Kabishibai Theatre performance for children aged 3 and over will take place in Oberursel’s library on Saturday, 9th July, 2016 at 11am.
“Kabishibai” is Japanese and means “paper drama”. A story is told using a small stage and pictures on cards inserted into it.
The story on Saturday is “Apfelsaft holen“.
The performance will last about 45 minutes and tickets costing €2 each are available at the library or by calling 06171 62870.
Congratulations to Frau Martha Wegner of Bommersheim who is 90 years old today.
A tour entitled “Das keltische Leben am Fuße des Feldbergs” (celtic life at the foot of the Feldberg) is being held on Saturday, 9th July, 2016 at 2pm.
The tour starts at the Taunus Information Centre and costs €5 per person, those taking part should have sturdy footwear.
Blood can be donated at the Red Cross in Oberursel on Friday, 8th July, 2016 between 3.30pm and 8pm. The Red Cross is located at Marxstraße 28, opposite the U-Bahn station “Lahnstraße”.
To donate you must be healthy and between 18 and 68 years of age. If you have not donated before, then you must not be over 60. You must take some form of identification with you, such as a passport, that contains a photo.
