Tuesday night is film night at Bluebox Portstraße, located near the U-Bahn stop “Altstadt”.
On Tuesday, 1st November, 2016, the film “Als Frankfurt die Hauptstadt des Jazz war” with Jochen Hasmanis will be shown at 9pm.
There will be a book flea market in Oberursel’s library on Saturday, 5th November 2016 between 10am and 1pm with proceeds going to the library’s supporters’ association.
The library is located at one end of the market square in Oberursel, in the Eppsteinerstraße.
The nearest car parks are “Bleiche” and in the Holzweg. The nearest train station is Altstadt (U3).
The bluebox portstrasse will be showing a film for children aged 5 and over on Friday, 4th November 2016 at 3pm. As it is not a commercial cinema, they are not allowed to advertise which film will be shown in advance. If you do want to know which film will be shown then call 06171 636930 and they will tell you.
The bluebox is located opposite the U-Bahn station “Altstadt” (formerly “Portstraße”).

The Seniorentreff in the “Altes Hospital” (Hospitalstraße 9) will be holding a breakfast buffet on Friday, 4th November 2016 between 9am and 11am.

The Verbraucherzentrale (consumers’ association) will be offering individual energy saving consultations in the Rathaus in Oberursel on Thursday, 3rd November 2016.
Appointments cost €5 for 30 minutes, and €2.50 for each 15 minutes after that. They need to be arranged in advance by calling 06171 502-310.
At the Drachenfest (dragon/kite festival) on Sunday, 2nd October, 2016, the youth section of the local Red Cross awarded the prizes to the children whose balloons had flown the furthest the previous year.
Larissa Hainz-Taute (back row, right) from the Jugendrotkreuz (JRK) presented vouchers from the Rompel shop in Oberursel to 5-year-old Friederike (left) and 2-year-old Finn (right). Finn’s balloon was found in the orchard in Rodheim awarding him third place. Second place went to the 10-year-old Laura, whose balloon flew to Heusenstamm. But Friederike was the clear winner after her balloon travelled 132km and landed in Elztal-Muckental in Neckar-Odenwaldkreis.

A white Daimler Benz parked in the Holzweg facing towards the Eppsteiner Straße was damaged on Monday, 24th October, 2016 between 11am and 12 noon. When the owner returned the vehicle he noticed damage to the front of the car. According to police the person who caused the damage left the scene of the accident without carrying out the duty which is required of them (ie. staying to inform the driver of the damaged car or notifying police).
Witnesses are asked to call Oberursel’s police station on 06171 62400.
The tyres of a black Renault Espace parked on a private parking space in the Wintersteinstraße were slashed sometime between 7pm on Saturday, 22nd October, 2016 and 7.30am on Sunday morning. The damage is estimated at €500.
