Kamishibai Theatre performance at the library

A Kabishibai Theatre performance for children aged 3 and over will take place in Oberursel’s library on Saturday, 3rd November, 2016 at 11am.

“Kabishibai” is Japanese and means “paper drama”.  A story is told using a small stage and pictures on cards inserted into it.

The story on Saturday is “Es klopft bei Wanja in der Nacht“.

The performance will last about 45 minutes and tickets costing €2 each are available at the library or by calling 06171 62870.

This year they have added chutney, gingerbread green tea and Lady Grey tea bags to the range on their stall.

Take a tour of Oberursel’s old town

The Bleiche in Oberursels old townA tour of the old town (Altstadt) part of Oberursel is being offered on Saturday, 3rd December 2016 at 2pm.

The tour starts in front of the Vortaunusmuseum at the Marktplatz at 2pm and costs €3 per person.

Book flea market at the library

The library is located at one end of the market square in Oberursel, in the Eppsteinerstraße.

The nearest car parks are “Bleiche” and in the Holzweg. The nearest train station is Altstadt (U3).

Energy saving advice

Energy Saving Calculator - ©iStockphoto.com/alexslThe Verbraucherzentrale (consumers’ association) will be offering individual energy saving consultations in the Rathaus in Oberursel on Thursday, 1st December 2016.

Appointments cost €5 for 30 minutes, and €2.50 for each 15 minutes after that. They need to be arranged in advance by calling 06171 502-310.

 

Bingo at the Seniorentreff

Anyone who is interested is invited to come along and try their luck!

Oberursel Christmas Market (Weihnachtsmarkt)

The 2016 Christmas Market (Weihnachtsmarkt) in Oberursel starts on Thursday, 24th November and continues until Sunday, 27th November.

The market is open Thursday 4pm-9pm, Friday 2pm-10pm, Saturday 12pm-10pm and Sunday 12pm-9pm, and takes place in front of the town hall (Rathausplatz), along the “Vorstadt” and “Strackgasse”, and on the market square (“Marktplatz”) with over 100 stands in total.  Additionally this year the new car park behind the Stadthalle in the Hospitalstraße will also have stands on it, including a merry-go-round.
