Ann-Kathrin I. and 20 years of Hof Kofler

With Hof Kofler celebrating their 20th anniversary last week, it was only fitting that one of the daughters of the house, Ann-Kathrin – who is currently the Fountain Queen Ann-Kathrin I. – should pay a visit with her Brunnenmeister Rainer:

TaunaBad outdoor pool to open

The outdoor pool at the TaunaBad is set to open on Saturday, 20th May, 2017.  For the next few weeks both pools will be open, so that visitors can go in- or outside depending on the weather.  The indoor pool will be closed for maintenance sometime in the summer.

The outdoor pools have had a new coat of paint this spring, including the addition of TaunaBad logos.

Season tickets for the outdoor season are now on sale and are valid until 15th September, or longer if the outdoor pool stays open in good weather.

The pool will be celebrating its 80th anniversary this summer, so a big party is being held on Whitmonday, 5th June, 2017, with live music and activities for children.

Appointments cost €5 for 30 minutes, and €2.50 for each 15 minutes after that. They need to be arranged in advance by calling 06171 502-310.

 

Bingo at the Seniorentreff

To take part, be at the “Altes Rathaus” (Urselbachstraße 59) at 9.30am.

Police appeal for help finding missing person

Detectives in Bad Homburg are asking the public for help to find Inge Betti Barthel who has been missing for a week.

Frau Barthel, who normally lives in Erlangen, was last seen near the Feldberg.  Her VW Bus with the registration number ER-E 4926 was found on Wednesday, 3rd May, 2017 around 12 noon in the woods at the “Albrechtsweg” by an employee of the regional forestry authority, near  the “Fuchstanz” restaurant.  This part of the woods is within the bounds of Oberursel.

According to witnesses, she was on her way to the “Altkönig”, a popular place for walkers located between Oberursel and the Feldberg.

Frau Barthel is 1.60m tall and has black/grey medium length curly hair, but there are no details of her clothes available.

Tuesday night cinema at Bluebox Portstraße

As the organisation is not a commercial cinema, they are not allowed to advertise which film will be shown in advance. For Tuesday, 16th May 2017, we are told that it will be a science fiction film. If you do want to know which film will be shown then call 06171 636930 and they will tell you.

The showing starts at 9pm.

A celtic funeral pileA tour entitled “Das keltische Leben am Fuße des Feldbergs” (celtic life at the foot of the Feldberg) is being held on Saturday, 13th May, 2017 at 2pm.

The tour starts at the Taunus Information Centre and costs €5 per person, those taking part should have sturdy footwear.

 

Donate Blood

Blood - ©Can Stock Photo Inc. / iqonceptBlood can be donated at the Red Cross in Oberursel on Friday, 12th May 2017 between 3.30pm and 8pm. The Red Cross is located at Marxstraße 28, opposite the U-Bahn station “Lahnstraße”.

To donate you must be healthy and between 18 and 68 years of age. If you have not donated before, then you must not be over 60. You must take some form of identification with you, such as a passport, that contains a photo.
