Breakfast Buffet at the Seniorentreff
The Seniorentreff in the “Altes Hospital” (Hospitalstraße 9) will be holding a breakfast buffet on Friday, 28th July, 2017 between 9am and 10.30am, with food and drink costing €6 per person.

Bicylces stolen from shed in Bommersheim
Four bicycles worth several thousand Euros were stolen from a garden shed in the Bruchwiesenstraße in Bommersheim sometime between 7.30pm on Saturday, 15th July and 2.54am on Sunday, 16th July, 2o17.
According to police in Oberursel the thieves managed to by-pass the lock on the shed and they would like witnesses to call them on 06171 62400.
Senior citizen robbed at home
An 82-year-old woman was robbed in her home in the Marxstraße on Friday, 14th July, 2017 between 10.40am and 11.10am.
It appears that whilst one of the thieves used a cover story to gain access to the flat and distract her, the second thief went looking for valuables in the bedroom. They then fled with several thousand Euros worth of items.
Detectives in Bad Homburg would like anyone with information to call them on 06172 1200.
3,000 step walk for senior citizens in Weißkirchen
A 3,000 step walk for senior citizens is taking place in Weißkirchen on Wednesday, 26th July 2017.
To take part, be at the “Altes Rathaus” (Urselbachstraße 59) at 9.30am.

Congratulations to Herr Dr. Wolfgang Klausewitz of Oberursel who is 95 years old today.
The Mouse in the Maize Maze
The Maize Maze opened its doors for the 15th year last weekend, with a motive that will particularly please younger fans. The 3½ hectare maze belonging to the Bickert family contains signs for them to look out for with pictures of characters from the children’s programme “Die Sendung mit der Maus” on them. E-Bikes stolen from garden
Three thieves gained access a property in the Münzenburgstraße in Gonzenheim on Saturday, 15th July, 2017 at 3.20am. Although a property was protected by a gate, the key to the gate was in the lock.
Once inside, they removed a white E-Bike and a blue and white mountain bike. Although the E-Bike had a lock, neither of the bicycles was locked up.
The owner of the property heard the noises and made the thieves aware of his presence, after which they left with the bicycles but left two other bicycles behind in the process that are now with Oberursel’s police.
The stolen bicycles are worth about €2,800 together.

Traffic island in Oberstedten damaged
An accident occurred at the junction of the Niederstedter Straße and Hans-Mess-Straße in Oberstedten on Saturday, 15th July, 2017 at 7.55pm.
The 58-year-old driver of a Volkswagen Lupo entered the roundabout from the Niederstedter Straße and on leaving it damaged the curb of the traffic island. The damage to the island and the car is estimated to be about €450.
Local police happened to be near and saw the accident happen. Whilst taking down the details they suspected the driver of being under the influence of alcohol. It then turned out that the driver did not have a driving license.
A blood sample was taken and the driver can now expect criminal proceeding against them for driving under the influence and without a license.
Porsche cars damaged in parking mistake
On Friday, 14th July, 2017 at 6pm a 21-year-old driver was leaving a parking space at the Audi centre in the Willy-Brandt-Straße. Although they wanted to reverse their Ford Focus out of the space, they put it in the wrong gear and drove forwards instead.
The car then rolled about 20m before going down an embankment, where it hit two fences that fell over and damaged two Porsche cars in the process.
The damage to the three cars and the fence is estimated at €16,000 in total.
