Motorway exit to be closed on Monday night

The motorway exit “Oberursel” on the A661 will be closed on Monday, 24th July, 2017 from 10pm until 5am on Tuesday morning for traffic travelling towards Frankfurt (eg. coming from the Feldberg and turning off towards Oberursel, or travelling out of Oberursel and joining the motorway towards Frankfurt).

The exit is due to be improved sometime in the future, but before this can happen the ground must be probed for any unexploded ordnance left over from the Second World War.

Traffic will be diverted to the “Oberursel-Nord” exist.

Car mirrors damaged in the Altkönigstraße

Police report that two cars parked in the Altkönigstraße on Monday, 17th July, 2017, had their mirrors damaged.  One Mercedes and one Audi were affected, leaving €700 of damage.  Witnesses are asked to call 06171 62400.

3,000 step walk for senior citizens in Stierstadt

To take part, be at the bus stop “Altes Rathaus” in Stierstadt at 3pm.

Graffiti sprayed at school

A school in the Karl-Hermann-Flach-Straße has been sprayed with graffiti sometime between 5pm on Sunday, 9th July, and 7am on Monday, 10th July, 2017.

Police say that the damage caused is worth about €15,000 and they are asking for anyone with information to call them on 06171 62400.

 

New fountain vandalised again

Only last week was the new “Äppelparkbrunnen” in Oberstedten vandalised, with the apple being removed from the top.

At the weekend a new metal apple was added just in time for Oberstedten’s 1200th anniversary celebrations, but by Sunday morning (16th July, 2017) this too had been stolen.  This time the pin with the thread that the apple screws onto has disappeared as well.

Moped stolen

A moped has been stolen from the road “Groenhoffstraße” between 11pm on Thursday, 6th July, 2017 and 1.20am on Friday.

The owner of the yellow Yamaha parked it in the road, but on returning found that it had disappeared.

Anyone with information as to what has happened to the moped is asked to call police on 06171 62400.

 

Incident on the road to the Feldberg

An incident on the L3004, the road that leads from Oberursel to the Feldberg, on Monday, 3rd July, 2017 has left police asking for witnesses to come forward.

At 5.30pm at the “Applauskurve” a 28-year-old cyclist and an 18-year-old motorcyclist were both travelling along the road.  The cyclist says that the motorcyclist tried to kick his rear wheel, damaging his bicycle.

No-one was injured, but police would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened on 06171 62400.

Handbag stolen from car boot

Between 5pm and 6pm on Sunday afternoon (2nd July, 2017) thieves managed to open the boot of a black Audi parked in the Aumühlenstraße in Oberursel.  There, they stole a handbag that had been left in the boot.  The bag and its contents are worth around €1,000.

Police would like witnesses to call them on 06171 62400.

 

Car workshop broken into

A car workshop in the Stierstadter Straße was broken into between 5.30pm on Saturday, 1st July, and 6.30pm on Sunday, 2nd July, 2017.

The thieves managed to open the door to the workshop and broke open the offices, where they stole cash.  The damage is estimated to be around €4,500.

Police would like anyone with information to call them on 06171 62400.

Bingo at the Seniorentreff
