Important information during the hot weather in Oberursel

Several pieces of information information have been issued by the town hall in recent days concerning the hot weather, with temperatures hitting the 30°c mark most days at the moment.

  • Smoking and barbecues are prohibited in the woods
  • Visitors to the town’s woods should take care not to block emergency access to them with their own vehicles, including access to the “Schulwald”.
  • Care should be taken not leave glass bottles lying around outside, or even pieces of broken glass.  Cigarette ends should not be simply thrown on the ground.
  • Visitors to the local festivals should only park on the marked out parking spaces, and not leave them in the woods or on dried out fields.
  • Candles at the cemeteries should not be lit, and the watering of flowers and plants there should be kept to a minimum
  • If you discover a fire, or even just see smoke in these areas, call the fire brigade on 112.
  • Drinking water should be spared as much as possible.  Swimming pools and cisterns should not be filled, automatic watering systems should not be used, and the daily watering of lawns should be avoided.
  • Young plants that need to be watered should be watered in the early morning, as the due allows the ground to absorb the water better.
