Road closed in Bommersheim, buses diverted

Work started today (Monday, 21st August, 2017) in the road “An der Friedenslinde” in Bommersheim and is set continue until the end of March 2018.

The road and pavements are being re-surfaced and the level of the bus stops adjusted to allow step-free access to the buses.

While the work is going on, bus routes 42, 46, 47 and 49 are being diverted.  The stops “An der Friedenslinde”, “Kalbacher Straße” and “Goldackerweg” cannot be serviced, instead the buses will travel along the Lange Straße and will stop at the Burgstraße on both directions, the Goldackerweg travelling into Oberursel and “Im Ölgarten” when travelling towards Weißkirchen.

 

Long-term roadworks in the Altkönigstraße

Monday, 7th August, 2017 sees the start of roadworks in the Altkönigstraße that are set to last until the end of March 2018.

The first stage will see the footpath on the southern side of the road being re-surfaced between houses 60 and 68 and the bus stop being re-built to make level access to the buses.

In the third stage the footpath and the parking bays on the northern side of the road between the Clara-Schumann-Straße and Steinmühlenweg will be done, followed by the footpath and bus stop near the Steinmühlenweg and Altkönigstraße number 73.

The final stage will see the road itself being re-surfaced.

The first four stages will see the road reduced to a single carriageway with traffic lights in operation.  The road will need to be closed completely for part of the re-surfacing work in the finale stage.

Local residents should be able to access their drives at most times.  The cost of the project is being paid for in part by a grant from the regional government (Land Hessen), and will in total cost €730,000.

Road junction closed

During the coming week (Monday 31st July – Friday 4th August, 2017) work will be taking place on underground utility pipes near the “Drei Hasen” bridge.  The slip road connecting the Nassauer Straße with the Homburger Landstraße travelling towards Bommersheim will be closed during this time.

Traffic will be diverted along the Willy-Brandt-Straße and “An den Drei Hasen” back towards and then under the bridge.

The slip road in the other direction is not affected.

Motorway exit to be closed on Monday night

The motorway exit “Oberursel” on the A661 will be closed on Monday, 24th July, 2017 from 10pm until 5am on Tuesday morning for traffic travelling towards Frankfurt (eg. coming from the Feldberg and turning off towards Oberursel, or travelling out of Oberursel and joining the motorway towards Frankfurt).

The exit is due to be improved sometime in the future, but before this can happen the ground must be probed for any unexploded ordnance left over from the Second World War.

Traffic will be diverted to the “Oberursel-Nord” exist.

Rompel-Passage closed until September

The “Rompel-Passage” in the centre of Oberursel is being closed next week to allow for it to be re-plastered and the display cases to be replaced.

Between Monday, 17th July, 2017 and the beginning of September the shops Amicus, Rompel and Liwell only be accessible via the Chopin-Platz (Holzweg) and the Untere Hainstraße, but not directly from the Vorstadt.

 

Robert-Kempner-Ring closed

The Robert-Kempner-Ring in Camp King is closed to traffic in front of house number 24 to allow a number of utilities to add new connections.

Altkönigstraße closed on Saturday

The Altkönigstraße in Oberursel will be closed on Saturday, 8th July, 2017, at the point where the bus stop “Brüder-Winter-Straße” is currently being re-built, to allow for re-surfacing work to take place.
The area between the Altenhöfer Weg and the Altköngstraße will only be accessible by using the Borkenberg.

Gerhart-Hauptmann-Straße roadworks

Roadworks sign - ©Can Stock Photo Inc. / RedKoalaThe gas and water mains in the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Straße are due to be replaced starting on Monday, 15th May, 2017 with the work expected to take around nine weeks.  During this time access to the drives of the properties cannot always be guaranteed, although all houses will be accessible by foot.

Drosselweg closed

Roadworks sign - ©Can Stock Photo Inc. / RedKoalaThe Drosselweg in Oberstedten has had to be closed at short notice in front of house number 7 to allow for works to take place on the gas mains.  It is expected to re-open after 17th May.

Pedestrians and cyclists are able to pass the roadworks.

Roadworks in the Alfred-Lechler-Strasse

During this time parts of the footpath and the road may be inaccessible, however access to all of the properties along the road will be maintained.

The Alfred-Lechler-Straße contains not only the car park for the Taunus Information Centre, but also Frankfurt International School’s Primary School.
