This burial mound is located at the start of the Celtic trail, opposite the terminus of the U-Bahn line “U3” from Frankfurt. The “telescope into the past” seen in front of it allows the visitor to see what the inside of the mound would look like.
A visitor views a telescope “into the past” at the Celtic Trail
The telescopes “into the past” give an idea of what the area would have looked like in Celtic times, where a reconstruction would be not possible. This telescope shows what the inside of a burial mound would have looked like.
Old and new signs at the start of the Celtic Trail
The trail was opened for the new season this morning, and additional signs give information on the celtic town “Heidetränk-Oppidum” that was located just outside of what is now Oberursel.
