The Maize Maze opened its doors for the 15th year last weekend, with a motive that will particularly please younger fans. Taunabad opening party on 4th July
Saturday, 4th July, 2015 sees the official opening of the new TaunaBad take place in Oberursel with a big party in the grounds outside.
Hit Radio FFH’s presenter Julia Nestle will be be bringing the radio tour to the pool and there will be outdoor activities on offer between 2pm and 6pm. If the weather turns bad then the party will move indoors).
To speed up and simplify entry to the pool there will not be any “Kurzzeittickets” (tickets for a limited number of hours) on sale. Day tickets and family tickets can be purchased in advanced in the foyer of the pool building.
As a large number of visitors are expected, the car park will probably fill up quickly. Visitors can also use the car park belonging to Fresenius round the corner in the Borkenberg free of charge.
Due to another event taking place in the morning, the outdoor pool will not be open on Saturday until 12.30pm, but will stay open until 8pm. The indoor pool will be open between 2pm and 9pm. It will be possible to enter the grounds through the main building and via the entrance at the other end of the car park.
Swim for free at the TaunaBad this weekend
A long-awaited moment in Oberursel will finally arrive on Saturday morning when the new indoor swimming pool opens its doors to the public for the first time at 10am.
To give everyone a chance to try the new pool out, visitors can swim for free for two hours on Saturday, 20th December and Sunday 21st December, 2014, between 10am and 9pm. [Read more…]
13th Rheingau Wine Festival opened
The 13th Rheingau Wine Festival was official opened on Friday evening (2nd August, 2013) by Mayor Hans-Georg Brum accompanied by the Fountain Queen Annabel I.
With them were local visiting “royalty” Sabine Wagner, the Rheingau Wine Queen and Louisa Follrich, the Hattenheim Wine Queen.
Also visiting the festival on Friday evening were the Mayor an other visitors from the twin town of Rushmoor, along with visitors from Kusadasi in Turkey. [Read more…]
Fotos erzählen Geschichten – Photos tell stories
An exhibition of photographs taken by members of the Photo-Cirkel in Oberursel is currently on display at the town’s library.
Each of the photos or photo sets tells a story, hence the title of the exhibition, such as the hunting pelican, or “from corn to bread”.
It was officially opened on Friday, 12th October, by the leader of the circle, Günter Albrecht, with Mayor Hans-Georg Brum and the chairman of the culture circle Lothar M. Wachter, and was accompanied by music played by Björn Grün and Stefan Heller.
The photos can be viewed during the normal opening times of the library until Wednesday, 31st October, 2012. These are:

Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 3pm-6pm
Thursday 3pm-7pm

New Irish Pub in Bad Homburg
A new Irish Pub opens its doors in Bad Homburg on Thursday, 24th February, 2011 at 8pm.
The pub is located at Rathausplatz 1, meaning that most of the town’s bus routes go past it. It is also only a short walk to the train station for the S-Bahn “S5”.
