A Kabishibai Theatre performance for children aged 3 and over will take place in Oberursel’s library on Saturday, 9th July, 2016 at 11am.

“Kabishibai” is Japanese and means “paper drama”.  A story is told using a small stage and pictures on cards inserted into it.

The story on Saturday is “Apfelsaft holen“.

The Taunushalle and the Maternity Ward

It was Saturday, 6th December, 2014.  The couples Sabine and Frank Starnberger along with Antonia and Karlheinz Meier were on their way to the hospital in Bad Homburg, where they their first children were about to be born.  But whilst the mothers stayed calm, Frank was so nervous, that he needed something to calm him down.  Karlheinz meanwhile had been in a strange accident and was now a patient himself in the hospital. “Kabishibai” is Japanese and means “paper drama”.  A story is told using a small stage and pictures on cards inserted into it.

The story on Saturday is “Schlimme Miezi”, about a cat who causes chaos as soon as its owner’s back is turned.

The performance will last about 45 minutes and tickets costing €2 each are available at the library or by calling 06171 62870.

Theatre at Kunstbühne Portstrasse

The “Neue Bühne Oberursel” will be performing on stage at the Kunstbühne Portstrasse on Friday, 7th February, 2014 at 7.30pm as well as Saturday  8th at 7.30pm and Sunday 9th at 3pm.

The play is called “Mein alter Herr” and is directed by Christel Popadiuk.

Tickets cost €12 plus a booking fee and are available at the Ticket Center in the Kumeliusstraße.

The theatre is located near the U3 station “Altstadt”.
